This is my first dual-sport / enduro/ dirt machine. I own a few sportbikes but never any offroad experience.
Just picked up an '08 WRR with 1200 miles on it for $3,500. I'm 52 and have been riding since 1970. Currently have an '08 KLR 650, a plated XR 250, and an '85 KDX 200 in prime shape. My wife is 46 and told me to either buy her a bike or she would. I bought her an '08 XT 250. She took a dirt bike riding class and a street riding class last summer and got her endorsement. We had a blast riding around Mt. Rainier and the Cle Elum area this year. Love this forum and looking forward to all the mods.

Hello everyone,

Picked up my new 08 WR250X last weekend and plan on getting some dirt wheels for it over the winter to do the TAT next summer.

I've been riding for a bit over 25 years and also ride a Victory Vegas and an 05 R6. Not much of a dirt rider but I did used to own a DR650SE which I rode to Terra del Fuego.

Here's my first ride report for my X. Hopefully they'll be a lot more to come.

Thanks,

I have about 70k riding miles under my belt and am looking for another get away. I hope to add a little something to the board when I can, otherwise I am just learning all I can from you all. I don't own an R² yet, but i sold my R1150GS Adventure on the weekend, so the shopping is soon to begin.

I plan on buying one in a couple of months, there won't be much riding where i live in Melbourne due to the tragic bushfires that have hit this area recently.

Greetings to all

Just picked up a white 09 last week. Planned to get it dirty today on some fire roads nearby but the weather had other plans.

Mods so far include front and back disk protectors (thanks Sandman!) and a Zeta bash plate. Undecided on which hand guards to get (and handlebar, for that matter). Opinions/thoughts welcome.

Nice to see a dedicated forum for this little bike in addition to the longish threads at the usual forums.

Hi,

I purchased a new 2008 off a E-bay aweek ago and stumbled across this site last night and immediately joined it. I had researched this bike to death on various sites and had read Big Dogs review of it and bought one site unseen. After I had won with the high bid on E-bay and went to pick it up I was somewhat apprehensive. As soon as I saw the build quality of the bike and compared it to some of the KTM's that I had owned previously my concerns started to ease.I have been riding off and on ...

Hallo everybody !

First of all iam struggling with your launguage, English in written form is not on of my stronger sides. I am a 44 year old guy from north Sweden, i got my Wrr 14 days ago and i am very pleast with the bike. Only one thing is that it could have better is torque on low rpm.

Maybe i change sprocket but what happens then with the speedometer ?

Im glad that i found this forum så i can pick upp varius opinion/tips about the bike.

This is a nice forum you got here. I picked up my WRX in June & have had a blast the rest of the summer. Have only done some minor mods (been too busy riding), but with Winter approaching I will be spending some quality time in the garage.

Another R2 in NW Arkansas

Though I've been a member and reader of this forum since shortly after its inception, I finally found the right bike to buy so that I'd actually be a R2 owner. A few days after buying "Ole Blue" I decided to take her out for a bit of a baptism. Little did I realize what that would entail.

It was a beautiful Fall day, a bit cool, but the mountains are really coming alive now as the trees shed their green for the rainbow of colors this time of the year brings to Arkansas.

After two months reading the forum and the manual SheWolf sent me (thanks Lynn), plus a year reading the WR250R thread in ADVRider, I finally managed to get enough money to buy my own R2 (and farkles).

Past Thursday I took delivery of the bike and did 250 km each day until I reached on Sunday the magical figure of 1,000 km.

This morning was the first service and I've spent the afternoon farkling:

- B&B offroad bashplate

- Ego Barkbusters

- Pro-fats plate holder

- Force Accesories ...
