I need some advice on my wr250r issue. Recently I started getting a strange totally annoying whistle-like sound coming from the engine (I think). It vanishes when I release the throttle and is more evident when the engine is running on low revolutions (at least I can not hear it on high revolutions). Another thing is that it does not happen every time I run my bike and sometimes not from the beginning of a session. Other than that I did not notice any degrade on the performance. Any ... After bugging a member for info about "this & that" & getting more than my share of excellant data, I received #s & good advice. I even called Dobeck. They actually manufacture the FMF unit. Now the bike has some major set backs, not from any advice nor #s selected. 2nd gear needs to be slowly accelerated through or the bucking starts. Had to have been on my last ride... I threw my leg over my bike, scooted up on the seat a bit and boom, the whole damn seat scoots with me! I have looked all over the place and they are no where to be found. My only conclusion is that they must have vibrated loose? I also thought someone may have tampered with my bike while parked or something...but no signs of tampering. Anyone have this happen to them? I have seen or heard somewhere of folks getting ... Runs great. Rode it for 20-30 minutes. No problem. Started this AM and it ran for a few minutes and died - Threw a code 30. Key "Off"; Key "On" - Restart. Runs fine. Dies. Same code. Repeat above; Restarted. No problem. Runs fine. I'm scratching. Any ideas ? -Robert What Broke? I know a decent amount about sportbikes (first legal moto though). My buddy and I rebuilt a 900rr pretty much from the frame up and motors before (plus im an electrician). This past Saturday I did add a lot of stunt parts but just gearing, dual caliper handbrake, ss line and master cylinder, speedo healer, extended idle adjuster mod…….ect Finished it up test rode it and everything was perfect. So I load my stuntbike and wr250x on the truck to go ... What Broke?
