So I live in an area where it isn't uncommon to travel 50 miles up a Forest Service Road before the really interesting side roads and trails start - and that doesn't count the miles of tar you might have to cover to get to the FSR itself. The nimble little WR is a little short in the legs for those of us in the mountains where gas stations can be few and far between.

The discussion of large capacity gas tanks coming out and other means to carry extra fuel aside, a trailer hitch mounted bike ...

They are super small, light weight and best of all they have a back on them! After a long days ride it sure was nice to be able to lean back and relax. They are really easy to balance on and once your in them it takes very little effort to maintain your balance. I sat in mine and ate dinner and breakfast every day.

I researched a few jackets and narrowed it down to the FieldSheer Adventure ($149) & the Tour Master Transition 2 ($170). For me it was best bang for the buck, and after PM'ing a few ADV riders who had both jackets, I decided on the FS Adventure.
Basically I thought that this would be a good place to throw out there to anyone who has packing equipment for their WR's. Be it, the Giant Loop, the Wolfmans, the DirtBagz, whatever. How much can you pack in your bag/s, and in the end, what bag holds he most?

Now I know the Giant Loop is one big wraparound bag, but it holds a fair amount...but does it hold more than the Wolfman or the Dirtbags, or some other bag I might have missed? Be interesting to see who comes out KIng in this regard. ...

So... one of my troops also happens to be an engineering student. Who also happens to be starting up a high end fab shop with a friend. Who casually mentioned to me a few days ago that they're looking for projects in niche markets in carbon fiber, light metals, etc.

Which got me to thinking that it sure would be nice to have a rear rack as sturdy as that Cycleracks monstrosity, capable of hauling anything remotely reasonable on it, that was also uber strong and added little to the width ...

Been needing a new helmet for dual sport use and have been liking the looks of the Arai XD-3 and Shoei equivalent. Just wondering about the face sheild, how it works, thoughts etc. It looks like HF might be using the Shoei.

I prefer the dirt helmet look, but don't wanna wear googles everywhere I go.... Or do I?

Just wanted review the gear I wear. I had a crash today from third gear to stop fast. After laying flat in the woods trying to catch my breath and seeing if all my parts still move. I felt lucky I was wearing some top of the line gear.

First off

Just my upper body took the blow.

Bell Moto 8 hit hard sheared off the visor bolt. No head trauma. Why buy a cheap helmet.

RockGaurdn Flak jacket. This I know saved broken ribs and arm damage. I can't say enough about the ...

Does anyone know of any big brands that are already using this technology?

Or better still... has anyone tried this?

It is simply too good to be true
