If you haven't gone, you really should go. I made a quick trip over last week. A friend was doing a track day Saturday. I rode over Friday morning, and we saw the museum Friday afternoon.

I had two docents come out and ask me about the WR. Plenty of folks ride to the museum on touring bikes, not so many on 250 cc thumpers.

They always have a few bikes sitting outside in the parking area. Here is an HD thumper.

I'd see this HD thumper a little later in the tour. A mid-90s ...

Its been a long time since I had a voluntary vacation from work and school, 10 years this summer to be exact. I had been planning a long road trip off and on for the last few years, but always ended up having to cancel due to lack of job, lack of money, or lack of suitable vehicle. This year, no such excuses. So grab some popcorn, pour yourself a drink, and settle in.

My last summer class ended at 10:30am on August 6th and my first fall class starts ...

The trails became steeper and rockier. We did several log crossings that just drains the energy out of you. We worked ourselves back to base ...

Here's some pics from a ride I did with a buddy about a week ago. We left Olympia, Wa and rode up to Lake Cushman. From there we circled the Olympic Mountains counter clockwise. We followed dirt roads for most of it from www.griptwister.com . Man, it was awesome. The route was incredible as well. Miles and miles of dirt roads into the back country. It was 751 miles from Oly roundtrip. The bike held up awesome. The only thing I plan to do is get some panniers. Oh yeah, and a new ass. ...

I finally got tires & a skid plate for the new bike, so i wanted to take it out & get dirty. This is my first off road ride on the yamaha wr250x. Tom, Kim & I were going to ride up to jerome, then over to sycamore canyon, williams, then across to the top of oak creek canyon. It's a ride we do every year, & is usually a lot of fun.

Well, Kim went out & bought a new bike, too. He got an '07 klx250 with 170 miles on it. So naturally he had to take it all apart to see ...

Man I had a blast.

1st day was by myself. Here is the link to that.

http://pnwdualsport.forumotion.net/adventures-f7/tried-to-make-it-to-galena-t311.htm

2nd day went with a buddy. Just stuck to the dirt/gravel roads. Pretty cool that the guy on an X was schooling the guy on the R. Guy took a dirt course and threw a couple of tips my way. Damn they made a difference.

We really slacked on the picture taking. Hard when your on the move so much. More fun that way anyway.

Here she is all fixed up (thanks Levity) and with minor mods. These are photos from the Aldrich Wilderness Trail in Oswegatchie, NY.

Years ago you could ride everywhere, but now due to ATV clubs treading UNlightly anything off the main road is closed during the summer in order to preserve the snowmobile trails for the winter time.

This is the first time my brother and I have ever really ridden together. It's absolutley awesome, we're HOOKED!

Just got back about 2am this morning after a very intense week of motarding in the Kootenays.

We didn't get a chance to contact people in the area since it turned out to be very busy and we were out of cell coverage most of the time.

The trip report is posted at the following link on our web site. It's going to be cross posted on a few boards, so it's an external link. Sorry about that, but here's a few teasers.

Ok, I have posted this on a few other forums, so don't get mad if you've seen this. Usually I would just post a link to it....but it was such a blast I need to do more then just a link.

This has got to be one of my worst planned trips. I like to thank my wife for that one. Less then a weeks notice and even up till the day before we left, still wasn't sure if I was riding or taking the car. Got my bike up and running with all my gear ready the morning I was to leave. Printed up a ...

if anyone has a chance to travel to nw fla. you have to ride on the eglin a.f. base reservation . over 5000 acres of land .beware lots of sand and single track. there's alot to see here including some areas still used by special forces to train their men, i should mention that you would be required to buy a permit and be tagged for the street, but for $10.00 it's a great place to ride. also not far away there's the black water river area that is loaded with some nice trails as well.
