As the title says, I'm new to this forum, but not to bikes. In a nut shell, I have been riding since 1975, owned numerous bikes. My favorite bike to date ( never should of sold it ) 2001 KDX 220. That thing was fast and handled like nobody's business. I'm a member of NESBA " A " Group rider, I ride a FZ1 on the street and looking to get a WR 250 R as a retirement gift to myself.

Gonna ride the TAT, starting in TN of course and go to OR. I'm vertically challenged so, some internal suspension work will need to be done. I had the same thing done to my KDX at "Full Travel Innovations" in Thomasville NC and was relived at how will it rode after words.

If anyone is vertically challenged as well and can lend some tips, please forward them to me.  cheers

Dennis

Here's how to lower 1" using stock adjustments >> Stock Lowering

To lower further you will need the Yamalink

There are tons of threads on lowering bike.

Congrats on retirement. I'm on pace to retire at 140 years old.

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm gonna leave the stock link and do internal lowering, re working the shock and doing some spring work. I lowered my KDX 2" and got a lower seat. Those two adjustment worked great. the KDX seat height was the same as the WR, maybe .03 lower, none the less it worked perfect. Thanks again for the welcome. Maybe I'll see you or another rider on the TAT in 2015.

gatorfan,

Thanks for the info, great links.

On another note, maybe the Gators can get it together next year. I'm an old school Nebraska Cornhusker, ground and pound fan. I think, maybe the Cornhuskers played the Gators one time.........1996?

Thanks again,

Dennis
