Ok guys just to add some figures for the record, since this looks like the "official" place to list 'em...
I checked my valve clearance very early on due to dismantle for 290 B/B kit - so mine are from the engine covering only 8,500 KLM's - which converts to just over 5,000 Miles. So my figures as per below,
For the Intake valves, clearance was = one valve at 0.15mm, and the other at 0.18mm.
For the Exhaust valves, clearance was = one valve at 0.20mm, with the other being at 0.23mm.
*****************************************************************************************
All the above listed clearance for my engine were checked at "stone" cold.
So the factory listed spec's for cold valve clearance are as per below,
Intake = 0.13~0.20mm.
Exhaust = 0.23~0.30mm.
Therefore as you can see, the clearance for my intake valves were very good, with both being nicely in the mid range of the spec's.
For the exhaust you can see that one clearance was right at the lower end of spec, with the other being just below spec on the "tight" side.
Anyway i hope that others who have also checked their V/C's may be able to add to the list here.
It would be great to have a single thread to compile the history, for both short & long term mileage.
Good thread,
Cheers guys.
