Given the pricey cost (80) of the speedo healer from 12 oclock labs, how many of you considered getting an aftermarket cluster/indicator/odo?

why or why didn't you go that route?

off the top of my head i am worried that when/if i ever sell the bike it'll have more miles than it should displayed ...

but that's really the only con i can think of...

I started with a SpeedoDRD from 12 o'clock labs, then I wanted a tach and water temp, etc.
Plus I'm a electronic junkie so I bought a Trail Tech Vapor also my GPS shows my speed so I don't think I'm helping here...... dunno

I can only speak for myself but I went for the speedo healer because the stock speedo cluster is full of diagnostic features. I thought about doing as TwoBuells did but I like the one display only. Yes the Km's will be out but I am also no planning on selling it anytime soon. Also people who do there research into these bikes will know of the known fault and understand. If you make gearing changes or change the size of your tyre your odo will be out anyway so there is no real one fix that will suit everyone.

Plus as someone on the forum once said i never got a ticket for my odo being out a little but well the speedo that's another thing.

Know I could be wrong the wife seems to thing I am a lot. If we bring the speedo back down to be acurate shouldn't the odo read less. Which will mean you will be out say 5-8% and that just means you need to do your services a little sooner than the odo says? And obviously a lower odo reading won't be a bad thing unless you forget and miss a major service interval.

Well the aftermarket ones can do odo and speedo off of GPS for example... so you're correct as long as you're not in deep trees or really tight single track that loops back on itself often

from my mtn bike racing days i had both the wheel speed sensor and the gps style on my bars and at the end of a race they'd always be a little off from each other no matter how well calibrated

excellent point about the diagnostic stuff on the oem cluster, i did forget about that since my bike is new and stock and i don't expect it to ever break hehe =]

I wouldnt worry about the odo being off and hurting the resale value.
Most guys look at the condition and how well the bike has been looked after more so than how many miles are on the odo when buying a dualsport.
I only have 4000kms on mine but I bet most WRRs with 10000kms have less wear and tear on them as I ride mostly offroad. I wont be getting a lot for mine if I ever sell it. poser2
