PostSubject: She's coming together nicely   She's coming together nicely EmptyMon Sep 29, 2014 12:15 am

With great advice and many searches I have been able to build my new bike and she just keeps getting better. As for mods so far since buying I have done the following. I would say that with all the mods the Power Commander is the most amazing piece of the puzzle. She runs so amazing now and pulls so hard thru the gears.
1. DRC Edge2 Smoke Tailight / Turn Signal with 12o'clock labs upgrade processor board
2. Custom mounted LOOP E-Marked Turn Signal LED Lights
3. FMF Q4 Exhaust with power bomb header thermal wrapped
4. AIS removal
5. K&N air filter with air box flapper mod
6. Power Commander V with fuel and ignition
7. ADV Monster LED Headlight and Model 50 LED lights (Waiting to arrive)
8. Yamaha Black OEM tail and side panels
9. Carbon fiber Accents
10. CV4 Blue Silicone radiator coolant hoses
11. UFO UNIVERSAL GLEN HELEN HAND GUARDS BLACK
12. JT 12 tooth front sprocket
13. SDG Gripper Seat Cover with Add On Foam Step (Waiting to arrive)
14. Zeta Anodized Blue magnetic drain plug, front brake reservoir cover, rear brake reservoir cover, brake clamp, brake clevis, axle blocks, oil filter cover, engine plugs, and oil filler plug.
15. Z-Carbon rear brake caliper guard, rear brake disc guard, chain guide, front sprocket cover, and chain cover (Waiting to arrive)
16. FlatLand Racing skid plate being anodized black type III (waiting to be completed)
17. Last but not least all new fluids, filters, and maintenance

And finally some pics of where she was and where she is now.

Thanks, I just added the ADV Monster 50 fog lights (one of the most needed mods) and they are epic for lighting. I also added a new Enjoy MFG ribbed seat cover so no more sliding back and forth. I will have pics up soon but can't say thanks enough to this forum for all the valuable information.

Sorry, it took so long to get a pic. The fog lights are amazing and once adjusted have become the best mod to date. To tired to fix the photos but you get the point.

How'd you wire them in?

Are they on a separate switch, or just always on like the headlight?

I like the look, I too did the black rear fender and side covers.

Pro Taper Bars
DRC Edge tail light and signals
Garmin GPS and SiriusXM Radio
FMF Muffler and FI controller
12 tooth front sprocket, will change when chain is worn

future mods: Suspension
black rims and blue hubs
Athena big bore

I purchased a separate foglight wiring harness off of ebay that works great and is waterproof. The switch is mounted on the inner tab of my left hand guard for easy access. Its a push button style that has its own fused setup. I didn't want them to be on constantly as they are bright as hell and sometimes piss off other drivers. But hey its my safety first when its dark or hard to see.

Thats a good looking R, theres a steal on a Athena kit in the for sale section I was really contemplating getting if I wasn't going to use mine for a daily gas saver vs my truck. But I might be buying a new MKZ so if that Athena kit is still available its mine Very happy

Did the mounting brackets come with the lights or did you just make them yourself? Any pics of them lit up? Bike looks good.

Looks good, I like the black panels. I currently have the standard blue and white, but would really like to have yellow for a true retro look. My first bike was a 70's yz80 in black and yellow.
