Odd or even has little/nothing to do with it. It is multiples. A 13 tooth sprocket on a 104 link chain will put the same tooth in the same hole every 8 revolutions. Add a 26 or 52 rear and you have a problem, Least Common Multiple is 104. On a stock WRX 13/42/108 LCM 9,828 WRR 13/43/108 LCM 60,372.

On a street bike, this might be valid, on a dirt bike I don't believe its a big deal.

Agree... I usually get about 25,000 miles on my chain/sprockets for my DL650 V-Strom which is mainly ridden on the street and for long vacation rides (+3200 miles).

With all the muck I take the WRR through I am actually impressed that I have about 8000 miles on the current chain.
