Just picked up my new shinny 2015 WR250R.

Not new to DS but this is much smaller than my usual rides.  I have traveled by KLR, GS, GSA and Ural.  Even though I have traveled a lot of dirt roads its always been on big pig bikes.  I got bit by the bug after riding a friends dirt bike a Honda XR 250.

Its time to farkle and modify followed very shortly by scratching it all up  and smiling Very happy .

Now the really bad thing is that I have to take a two week holiday to Europe.   This whole thing was so poorly planned  :(  Just kidding but I will be looking forward to getting me and piglet dirty after my return.

If any of you are in my neck of the woods and want to help out an old guy learn to ride and modify the WR  I will welcome the advise, and pointers.

Hey, we are almost neighbours I am in Houston but my lady friend is in Hazelton Canuckistani

Unlike you I like winters but dam this year we have hardly had any, Hazelton is snow free, Houston is in deep spring and has been for a couple of weeks at least. I think piglet is going to fill the void. :)

thanks for the warm welcome from hot and snow free Arizona.

Welcome aboard. There is a guy over on advrider who calls himself "Crooked Creek" who lives up your way. He has some neat ride reports, likes canoeing, and has been using a WR250R for a few years now. Your paths may cross. Check him out on advrider.

I've traveled through Northern BC a couple times and even more in the Yukon. I'd love to take my WR up the Dempster and the Canol Roads---among many others!

The bugs can be a problem. I once stopped at a music festival near Eagle River (IIRC), just south of Inuvik. Clouds of skeeters seemed to hardly bother the locals but I found them quite distracting.

On the other hand, there's not much human congestion in the Yukon. :)

I have done it before. She has not. It is a great trip. But i have never done the ferry south to the island....so that is a first for me. The beauty of the wing is the protection from rain and the heated stuff. Great fly fishing in the area to.
