Can anyone tell me what this is?

my friend moved my bike for a second at work yesterday and he said he heard something fall on the ground and found this under the bike. Does anyone recognize it?

I don't have a clue where that be on the bike...  

Looks lie a "one off" custom thingymajig.

It looks like a washer of some sort. The big oval pattern over the round hole shows what it was installed against. I have not come across anything similar on the WR, that I can think of.

Since you're in hot San Diego....is it possible that metal piece was on the ground near bike, when your friend moved bike it stuck to your warm sticky tire just long enough to get some distance to the ground before it fell off tire, and that's when your friend noticed it?

I usually like dropping odd bolts, washers, and nuts next to my friends bikes then picking them up and saying "Where did this come from?"

Is there a plate on the bottom of the kickstand foot?

The swing arm and linkage bolts have a lot of that kind of profile, but it's all part of the bolt if I remember correctly. And I think you'd notice if one of those was missing......

NOT part of swing arm/linkage assembly. The pivot bolts all have round washers.

Looks to be the foot off the kickstand, with mighty poor welds.:-)

It looks like your kickstand had something sticky on it, Maybe hot asphalt? Then stuck to the piece of metal and after lifting the bike back up the piece stuck for a second then fell. You can see an outline on it the shape of the kickstand foot.

It's missing the axial leads, but I'm pretty sure that's a flux capacitor. See any DeLoreans in your neighborhood?
