Stock hubs. Heavy? Empty
PostSubject: Stock hubs. Heavy?   Stock hubs. Heavy? EmptyThu Oct 29, 2015 12:39 pm

Hi everyone,

I cracked the rear hub on my RR and was wondering if I should replace with a stock unit or aftermarket? I would like to save some weight if possible, but I can't tell if the stock hubs are aluminum or not...

A machined one from a block of billet will likely be stronger, or suffer fewer imperfections that would (did) lead to failure.

The stock hubs are already pretty light. But, if you happen to be rebuilding your wheel anyway, replace the stock steel nipples with aluminum ones.
