Hello everyone, Id like to get some input on this topic of putting tubeless tires on the stock tube type rims.

I know the manual says do not attempt to put tubeless tires on the rims, but I see that people are doing it?

What are the issues you run in to when you put a tubeless tire on the rim?

Im looking at putting a more street oriented tire on the WRR, but I see most of those are tubeless.

Thanks ahead of time for any input :)

BTW....I just bought the WRR and its sitting at home, while im lost at sea on a military deployment :( So im pretty new to the bike

I haven't done it, just read about it. The main issue is sealing the spoke holes. There may be concerns about the shape of the rim being compatible with the tire bead.

One idea I saw was to seal the spokes with duct tape.

Tubeless tires with a tube are not a concern on the WRR. I have ran many miles on my Shinko 705's doing this.

If you should manage to seal the spoke holes on a set of spoke wheels there is no guarantee that you could run a tubeless tire with out a tube. The issue is in the area where the bead of the tire meets the wheel. All tubeless wheel designs have a specific design for this area but not so much for spoke (aka tube type) wheels.

On my KTM 450 EXC there were small cuts made in that area which I imagine were an aid to keep the wheel from spinning inside the tire. I would thing these cuts would allow air to leak over time if you were to mount a tubeless tire without a tube.

Not exactly sure what your question is. Are you asking whether you can use tubeless tyres with a tube, or whether you can use a tubeless tyre without a tube?

If the former, the answer is yes; the only difference between tube-type and tubeless tyres is that the latter have an extra barrier to prevent air escaping through the tyre carcass.

If the latter, you will have to seal the spoke and rim lock holes, as well as use a tubeless valve stem. I have done this and it works quite well; it's not difficult to do, but it takes some time.
