WR250R Valve Shim/Pad size (OD)

Ok I have a riding buddy of mine who has been having a hard time starting his bike.

Finally it would no longer start so he dug into it. He has ~17,000 miles on the bike and found he had no clearance on the intake valves. So he is getting ready to adjust the valves but is wondering what size valve shims/pads he needs to order.

I have a Hot Cams shim kit with 7.48mm shims and I think those are the right size but I cannot find anything definite in the Service Manual or online. Amazon has them listed at 7.48 but I found another sight that based on the picture of the package leads me to believe they are 9.48mm.

So 7.48 or 9.48?

On Internet parts catalogue, you can see the WR250R uses the same shims as a 2001-2013 YZ250F.
A 2001-2013 YZ250F uses the 7.48 diameter shims.

Verify this for yourself.

Thanks... I did this another way and see that the R and F model use the same shim. Since I already have a 7.48 mm kit I will lend him the kit and then I will know for sure!
