Yamaha Extented Service (Y.E.S.)

Thoughts from folks as to whether this is worth the piece of mind for my 2015 WR250R ($380 for 4 Years).

If you plan on putting 10k to 20k miles a year I would go for it, the only thing I put extended warrenty on is my 5th wheel trailer as we live in it for 5 months a year.

I bought 3yr extended which has about 6 months left.. I don't anticipate using the warranty at all.
I bought it because with it, they offered a better interest rate on financing which made up the difference, essentially making it free.
Make the call, but I don't feel I have better peace of mind.. I'm no mechanic - regular maintenance on these super reliable bikes is a breeze for the most part.
But if something failed that would've been covered, maybe I'd sing a different tune

Given that this machine may very well be the single most reliable motorcycle that has ever been built, I'd say it's not worth it.

I had the 5 year plan on my Yamaha 242 LS boat, because it came free for a boat show special, but we never needed it.

Never needed a repair on my Rhino 700 either.

Or my TTR125.

or my TTR90.

Or the two XT225's before that.

Or the Rhino 660 before that.

Hmmm, I'm seeing a pattern here...

We get 5 years for free in Denmark. The PO grenaded my bike 2 years in.. The oil sight-glass fell out while riding. Parts were replaced under warranty.

I have it on my '13 Super Tenere... Just recently used it to have the fork seals replaced under warranty.

If you do end up buying it, shop around online forums... There are dealers who will sell it to you for basically cost.
