Need help ..question on shock lowering/raising...

PostSubject: Need help ..question on shock lowering/raising...   Tue Apr 19, 2016 11:37 am

So I picked up my new/used 2015 Sunday and I am dialing it in for me. I noticed that the guy I bought it from had the forks raised about an inch and a half and the rear shock mount clevis was turned all the way up (to the rebound adjuster). So....first order of business was putting the forks back to stock height and also adjusting the shock back to stock-ish (i.e unscrewing the clevis). The question I have is, how much thread should be showing? I guesstimated and I unscrewed the clevis until it was still threaded about half way through the clevis block. and tightened the lock nut. My rebound adjuster is at max (3 clicks from seated) and I want to say I have 3/4" of thread exposed although I did not measure it. Bike feels great I just want to make sure I did not unscrew the clevis too much etc. I am sure it is fine but just want to check......

There was another thread on this recently...

Theres 7 threads showing between the rebound adjuster and the clevis stock.

This info came in handy to me too as I went back to stock height on the rear suspension for a couple reasons, I mowed through a chain slider and have been doing a lot more rocky technical stuff where I need all the ground clearance I can get.
