So I decided to buy a magnetic drain plug for my wr250x. AAAAND it snapped off as I was tightening it up.

As you can imagine I was shitting myself thinking this was going to cost me quite a bit of money. I was thinking I'd have to call out a mechanic or someone as I couldnt drive the bike with no oil.

But luckily the drain plug was so shit, it was hollow... Allowing me to push the magnet through and get a scew driver up the middle and then twisting it out.

Morel of the story is, Don't buy cheap shit. It's just not worth it in the slightest. Remember

Boy, it looks like you weren't far from shoving the magnet up into your oil pan. That would be a pain.

Who makes this plug so we know what to avoid?

I got it on eBay a few months ago and only just got round to doing an oil change.  This looks like it to me. I don't think it's the same seller though.

Yeah, you're telling me. But tbh I didn't think something as simple as a drain bolt could go THAT badly wrong.

Yeah maybe... But seeing as I've never had any problems over tightening bolts ever on this bike, and the first time it happened was with the new cheap bolt. I'm pretty sure it was the bolt.

Nice one. I'm in no rush to get one now I've just done an oil change, but that one looks good.
