I chose the Force Accessories guard for the reasons I discussed here.  My second choice would have been Bulletproof Designs and third choice would have been Flatlands Racing.  All are high-quality products made by reputable manufacturers and will hold up well for most riding scenarios on this bike.  Fitment is identical for 2008 to 2016 model years.

There is a concern with at least the Force (which I've been using since about 2008 on my WRR), and probably all of them.  The side fairing mounting tabs secure to the mounting tabs on the radiator.  Impacts from the side get transferred from the fairing directly to the radiator, as though the rad guard wasn't even there.  The rad tabs and whatever else would get bent in a long way before the fairing was ever stopped from further movement by the rad guard.

A sorta-fix for this is to secure the fairing tabs to rad tabs with low strength zip ties that will just shear under impact.  But you also have to redirect the fairing tabs to the front of rad tabs so that as the fairing gets pushed inward, the fairing hits the rad guard instead of the fairing tabs just continuing a bit further inward before contacting the radiator once again.

This, at least, is a theoretical fix to the problem.  Haven't had a hard enough impact from the side yet to test the shearing zip tie fix.

I have the flatland racing rad guard too.

Everything mentioned in the post above yours applies to the flatland guard too.

The rad shroud/plastic still bolts right to the rad so the rad bends the same as stock when you tip over and hit the shroud on the ground.

I fixed this issue by making a small aluminum tab that goes between the shroud and the guard so the shroud pushes on the guard not the rad.
It looks like this, it was easier to draw on a pic than take a pic of my bike. I have a zip tie in the bottom shroud bolt hole, which has held fine but you cant zip tie both top and bottom, the shroud will get ripped off too easy.

Yep.

I have thought about doing something similar, but never followed through on doing it.  Not enough scrap metal laying around the place, I guess.  Worth looking at again.

Hasn't happened to me yet, although I haven't banged my bike sideways on the shrouds much either.  I have a few replacement zipties in the front fender bag, in case I do just that.

I suppose none of us have bothered to write the manufacturers, pointing out this weakness in their design?  I'm guilty - I haven't.  Maybe we should.

How the flatland guard comes it offers no protection to the lower radiator tank either. Kind of a flimsy design due to nothing holding the back of it where it's supposed to be. I had a strip welded in on the bottom of the radiator. I may add some reinforcement to the back mount, and tie that into the fairing. Even if it just fits tight and still bolts to the radiator it won't be able to push in on it anymore. I may at some point look for a better one cause this left me disappointed... At the same time I have this one and welding doesn't cost me much more than time.
