Hey all, 3 months ago I bought a brand new wr250r.
Set sag to 4", set rear damping 3 out and sorted clickers for my type of riding.

Done the flapper mod, removed the exup servo + installed Yoshi rs4
Threw a skid plate, hand guards and a 12 teeth front sprocket.
And most important, ac10 knobbies + rim locks and 12 psi set up.

Bike runs great. More than I thought it would.

Now I'm looking to fine tune it.
First I will drop the ais. It does some tiny backfires rarely.
Second I'm gonna put a programmer thought of the pc fc.

What else do u recommend on modifing to increase slightly power and handling?

if you unchain it from the porch swing it will accelerate and handle better . . .  Very happy

Seriously thou.

On the power side:

    Fuel controller, header

Handling side:

Suspension:  If you are 155-175 pounds the spring rates are good, but if you are heavier (like me), springs will allow for proper sag.  Truly, suspension is the weakest link in the overall WR chain of attributes.  Improper valving in both the forks and shock.  The shock is truly a POS.

New bars will be on order soon, if you ride hard.  I bent my stock bars my first day out.

Protection:

Radiator guard and front and rear disc guards if you ride in rocky terrain.

You have a great start at it.  Enjoy!!! Peace YAM
