| I just use stock one`s and cut them shorter so I only use a couple of fingers, clutch and front break, that way I always have 3 fingers on the bars, have done this for years. | |

| I slid the stock levers in a bit so I pull on the outer end with two fingers, this makes the levers easier to pull than shorting them. I also drilled a new hole for the clutch cable in the clutch lever closer to the bars making the clutch easier to pull again. Its like buying a easy pull clutch lever but free. Im sure I seen zeta levers that fit the WRR if your after some bling. | |

I am looking to getting these levers, but I cannot figure out how one can adjust the freeplay between the brake lever and the brake piston. The OEM levers push the piston via a screw, which can obviously be adjusted; these levers do not seem to have a hole for that screw.

No but you can adjust the position of the lever (blue part) relative to the pivoting part (metallic colour). The end effect is the same. the clutch side adjusts the same way. It's done with the little bolt and locknut you see sideways in the lever. Although what do you mean with "free play"? This adjusts the position of the lever (how far or close to the bar it is before actuation). I believe that's all you can set with the stock lever as well.

No, take a look at your OEM lever: the brake piston is engaged by a screw that threads through the lever; adjusting this screw allows you to adjust the play between lever and brake piston -- this is equivalent to the free play in the clutch lever. Here is an OEM lever, where I labelled the adjustment screw hole and the return spring housing: But these aftermarket levers (and that includes the Zeta levers) lack this threaded hole where the OEM screw can be inserted, so how is the freeplay adjusted on these levers?

| Ah ok I get what you mean now. In that case no it can't be adjusted, but I find it isn't really necessary. Yes the lever does have a little bit of free play, but it is not too much. Also by having the adjustability of the lever (which you don't have stock) you can place it just where you like it, so that the free play becomes even less of an issue in my opinion. I have those blue levers from ebay and am very happy with them. you gain an extra degree of freedom on the clutch side which is great (! I can finally adjust it just where I want). On the brake you loose free play but gain lever adjustment. I can live with that | |

Thanks, that's exactly the information I was looking for: that the adjustability of the freeplay is not really necessary. I'll be getting these levers soon.

Before asking the forum here, I had posed the above question to the eBay seller, but had not received a reply. Apparently they were simply very slow to respond, and more than a week later they sent me a note: - Quote :
- Thanks for your email and your interests for our products.
You are right that our lever does not have a function to adjust brake play. but our lever can adjust lever position by changing the lever arm position.
The clearance between brake lever and piston is around 2mm. So although their brake lever does not have adjustable freeplay, they are made to have just the right amount.

I finally got these levers, but the OEM rubber covers do not fit over them. Did you guys install the levers without the rubber covers, or is there another solution? I'm afraid that without the rubber covers too much dirt will make its way through to the entire mechanism.

| I've been wanting to get a new clutch lever as well, something that is easier to feather (and closer in to bar, since I have smaller hands). But I don't want to give up any travel in the clutch either (I notice a difference in shifting performance if I don't pull the clutch lever in all the way on downshifts). Even though engagement is really far out, it seems my clutch needs the full travel to release completely. Any ideas? I have the clutch adjusted so there is only enough play per the manual, but that also puts engagement point pretty far out. I ride alot of woods and i find myself having to stretch my fingers out pretty far to get the proper feathering in some sections. | |

| I installed the clutch lever, and I was disappointed to discover that there is a lot of slack in the bearing, resulting in the lever having a lot of up-and-down play. Did everybody else observe the same thing?
These levers are looking more and more like a bad idea.

| Use a small shim/washer to remove the play. | |

The fundamental problem is that the bearing is too big for the OEM pin, and a shim will not fix this; a sleeve would fix it, or a better designed lever. My question is whether everyone else's lever is like mine, or there is so much variation in the manufacturing process for these levers that the bearing diameter is all over the place and I got an outlier.

| I know what the "problem" is, most of us just dont see it as a problem. Think of all the weight youre saving Youre free to buy some from another manufactor and spend a few Franklin's A shim will still fix some of the up and down play, why dont you try it when its such a big issue? :) | |
