Hi,

I am new here. I live in South Carolina and there are not many WR-Xs available around me here for sale.  I decided to venture out and look further for the bike I want.  I found a bike in Texas and have been communicating with the owner over the last few days.  I can have the motorcycle independently inspected so I can have a report for my own peace of mind.  I am having him make a thorough video of the bike's condition as well so I we are covered on the details up front.  Now I'm focused on what it will take to get from A to B.

I have figured it would cost around $350-$400 to fly out and ride it back (1000 miles) but that would be exhausting and take a long time which I don't have.
I have figured it would cost around $1250-$1350 to fly out and rent a truck to bring it back.
I have looked into having the bike shipped via motorcycle shipping company or even possibly UPS Freight.

This brings me to my first question on this forum.  Has anyone ever shipped a motorcycle and if so, what is the most economical method to do so?

Thanks!
Gary

Don't be afraid the 1000 miles ride. I used to do 5000miles/2 weeks on my wr.

I would just go to your closest dealer and get one or go on Craigslist or Cycle Trader. I'm sure there are many other wr's that are way closer.

I decided to go with Uship. I sealed the deal with the seller at 4:00 pm EST and my transporter from Uship came by and picked up the bike at 6:30 pm CST! Bike is en route and should be here soon.

Uship is awesome and so convenient and affordable for anyone with a similar situation.
