YamWOW, I just noticed your statement about our bikes being made in Japan. I wish it was true!

Fuel pumps are made in China (says so on the pump body), which explains why I'm an my third, and much better, one now. The stators are too afIk, which also explains why a) they were/are relatively cheap compared with my TTR250 items, and why they initially shat themselves regularly (currently on my fourth, and updated, stator).

Logic says that if these items are Chinese sourced, then other stuff might be too. Bugger.

Just my 2c worth.

You can bet that some of the parts on Yamaha motorcycles come from China, Korea, Taiwan, etc.
Just take a look at the label with the Yamaha part number on it that's stuck to your Genuine Yamaha Parts.
Not all of them, but enough.

Same for Honda motorcycles, too.

I wonder why that is.

The majority of products Made in China and sold in the US are made by USA based companies with plants in China, using very inexpensive labor and somewhat less expensive resources. The US may have lost the US job manufacturing sector, but did not lose the product line still being made (who knows where), and sold to the wide world of consumers. Slowly these companies are leaving the US as their home base so not to pay the relatively expensive Federal Taxes & administrative labor ... (like calling customer service and talking to someone in India ...)

Most products sold in Walmart are made in China by US corps.

And each year more & more comes to the US from US based overseas plants, which have No EPA, No Monopoly Laws, No Worker Rights ... you get the idea ...

The US corps are doing fine (as the US Stock Market reflects), the US manufacturing laborer is going extinct. Since 1980 most ALL of US Congress has supported the Corps leaving and sold out the American worker who made the corp great.

This happened in England in the early 1900's and they have nearly NO manufacturing base today (or much of any strong industries as well). Trump has spoke about this during his campaign - seems the horse is out of the stall at this point - I don't know (?)

We all enjoy the inexpensive products from over seas at the cost of Americans not finds jobs. These products usually excel in low price, are often disposable rather than repairable, and high quality is too specialized for this inexpensive mass production model.

sorry for the rant -

end rant

Does anybody know who foot the bill for those manufacturing plants to be built and equipped?

99.9% of the parts in this model are from Japan.

Most are Manufactured by Yamaha or by Yamaha subsidiaries,
some by subcontractors. (usually it will be from other companies in the same Keiretsu:"Fuyo group", but not necessarily)

And all of them are being assembled in Yamaha main plant, in Iwata Japan.
