Hi there, so I decided on buying a dual-sport motorcycle a few months back and have been doing a bunch of research about the different bikes etc and narrowed down what I want to either the Wr250r or Crf250L. Anyways now that I have the cash in hand to buy I've been looking at a some bike's in person. Mainly the crf250L as there are more used ones in my area. But I just found a pre-owned 2016 WR at a dealer near me with about 2500 miles they're asking $5000 for it.

From what I've seen in my area it seems like a good price, But is it really?. I was told it was in "great shape" by someone I spoke to briefly on the phone but they asked I call back during the week to get in touch with sales. Going to make a lower offer when i speak to them again but if they won't budge is $5000 a fair price for a bike like that or should I keep searching? Thanks in advance

That's about the average retail price for a used 2016 in So Cal where I live. Take a look at Nada.com and plug in your zip code to see what it comes up with.

For what it's worth, my research indicated that the WR is a much more capable bike than the CRF-L. I've had my WR for 4 years and have put over 10,000 miles on it, and I'm very happy with it. The only defect I've experienced was when the stator quit, but that was covered under a recall.

For a 2016 model, for your region (NY), for this time of year (start of prime riding season), and from a dealer, I would say this is a very decent price.

Thanks for the replies, So went up there earlier and looked at the bike and it was in pretty rough shape considering its a 2016. Plastics on both sides were scraped all around, big gouge in the tailpipe, crushed license plate bracket also the rear tire was so worn down the middle nobs in the tire were about gone scratch Bike was obviously rode hard. Plus on top of all that the price wasn't $5000 it was $5999 all of a sudden. negotiated with them for well over an hour and while they did work with me and brought the price down a lot they still couldn't do the price I wanted OTD so I left my number and started to leave.

However right before I got out the door I spotted a nice clean crf250L that was setup as a supermoto. They were asking $4600 for it. Tired of looking around and negotiating I said screw it. So i'm now the proud owner of a Honda Crf250 thumb lol sorry team blue looking for some advice Bike11
