took an 09 wr250r for a 5 minutes in town test ride and the header and muffler were quite hot and stayed hot for a long time.

Just surprised how hot the muffler got and how long it stayed hot... much longer and hotter than my stock 900 Triumph

any opinion would be appreciated

I have the Q4 and I have not noticed it getting particularly hot. It is definitely too hot to touch during operation, but after ten minutes of inactivity you can touch it without fear of burning. How long do you have to wait before you can touch your muffler?

I was actually doing a test ride on a bike. The header was screaming hot right after the ride I could feel the heat coming off hard the whole time (5 min). But, after 10 min of shutting it off it was still hot, but I could hold my hand on it for sure

Sounds normal to me.

Do you have another bike that runs cooler?

I guess it just runs hotter than my bigger 4 strokes and smaller 2 strokes i owns. Small 4 stroke = hot running

In principle, 4-strokes should all run at the same temperature, so the differences you might be observing come down to usage: one tends to rev the lower-capacity engine much more, hence the higher temperatures.

What kind of "bigger 4-stroke" are we talking about here?

2-stroke engines have lower compression ratios, so they generally run a little cooler, but during race conditions the temperature should be very close to that of a four-stroke.
