Clutch Perch Replacement Empty
PostSubject: Clutch Perch Replacement   Clutch Perch Replacement EmptySun Oct 22, 2017 6:43 pm

I have a 2008. My clutch works okay but the lever is getting a little sloppy so I guess my perch is wearing out. I could buy a new OEM perch but I was wondering if others have found an after market clutch lever system that works well. Also, it is hard to determine if the after market clutch lever works with the switch in the OM clutch perch. Any experience out there?

Your diagnosis sounds wrong: the sleeve bearing is part of the lever, not the perch, and the bolt acts as the axle. So if there is slopiness in the lever, you need a new lever, and possibly a new bolt.

Also note that the OEM perch does not only provide the housing for the switch, but also for the mirror, so if you opt for an aftermarket clutch perch, you will also need to get a separate mirror perch.

Thanks for the reply but nope, unfortunately it is the perch. I had an extra lever, I tried it and it didn't help. The bolt fits snug in the hole in the lever. The "slot" in the perch is a little too wide so the sloppiness is the lever going sort of up and down.

That up-and-down slop is normal, I have tried two aftermarket clutch levers and they both had that slop. If it bothers you, you can get a washer/shim and install between perch and lever.
