| I'd have to consider it. The only problem with the WR250R is a little too low on power sometimes and a little too heavy. Other than that it's the perfect bike. | |

- Nope, at least not the longer maintenance intervals part. According to Honda, oil / filter change and air filter service interval is just 600 miles, and valve inspection is 1,800 miles. Ouch.
So as expected, it will require similar maintenance to the KTM/Betas, cost about the same, and be down about 15 hp. There really isn't any upside to this new bike other than being a Honda. I don't know what they are thinking, but I am pretty confident that this thing will flop and it will only hurt our chances of getting an actual "lighter, more powerful" WR250R. I hope I am wrong.

Theres already way to many rumors which people pass on as legit information. Good point! I have been trying to find direct information from Honda sites but the details are lacking. Most of the details seem to be coming from websites were the author has contacts with Honda. Remember the WR250R was discontinued in 2018.

| The WR was discontinued? Oh man, that sux! So there is really only the 450 left if you want a new FI dual sport from a Japanese manufacturer? | |

| The wr250r is absolutely not discontinued. Lots of people reported it was just because Yamaha websites updated and it wasn't on there at the time.
It's definitely still available and I saw a couple 2018 models on the floor at my dealer yesterday.

So there is really only the 450 left if you want a new FI dual sport from a Japanese manufacturer? Sorry.. that was my lame attempt at a joke. It was based on all the websites reporting last year that Yamaha was discontinuing the WR250R in 2018... of course this was not the case.

| Whew! :)
I've heard rumors that the segment (dual sport) isn't nearly as popular as dirt bike or street bike, so I was worried there for a bit. That's what made me so happy about the 450 from Honda. If they see the value in building a new 450 dual sport there must be decent profit in the segment after all.
But I'll say it again, c'mon Yamaha, WR400R, same intervals and reliability, 300 pounds, $10k or less.
