Oh, HAPPY DAY!

Just had to share my excitement.

Doctor took my second arm cast off today.
It's been over 2 months months of restless nights and smelly fiberglass.

X ray looked good, fracture knitted and I'm OK to ride again in 1 week!

WOO HOO!!!

I have one week of 16oz curls and R&R to prepare.

WRR Forum has been great, thanks for all the good reading.
I look forward to posting up some cycle camping and ride reports.

Did we ( or just I) miss the story ? Missed a "Superman" grab or what ?

It certainly wasn't anything heroic or awsome. Scafoid fracture caused by too much leverage on cheap tire iron.
Apparantly the X rear rim has some sort of beadlock lip inside it that is stronger than a stupid HF tire iron.
Should have stopped after bending the first iron.
Put too much weight on the second one and the spoon broke off, hand punched the floor and rest is history.
Lucky I didn't break my front teeth out in the process, iron flew past my ear and hit my collarbone.

Lesson learned, 2 months in a cast and thousand dollars in medical bills costs alot more than having a shop mount your tires.

I've replaced dozens of dirt tires over the years and never had any trouble.
Now I know Supermoto rims are NOT the same as dirt rims.

But I'm back on the bike and feeling great. Wrist still cracks and aches a little in the morning but lossens up pretty quick riding.
Weekend trip to the ORV park this weekend will be the real test. Still wearing a neoprene wrap for now just to be safe.

Having broke both collarbones (2x), both wrists/hands/fingers (too many to count), I only change a tire if I have to * cringes thinking about the teeth thing since I busted those out in a full face helmet impact *

...otherwise I call the kid down the street and give him a few bucks, or it goes to the lil M/C shop dude around the corner.
