| Tonight, I brought home my new (to me) 2008 WR-250X. 3,911 miles, all stock save for a DRC Edge LED taillight and LED rear blinkers, and it's in perfect condition (thank God). Although I owned a WR-250R for about 14 months, the X is really the one I was after when I bought that one. Now, the dream is realized. | |

| Road trips a'plenty as soon as we get the weather. ;)
The WR-250R was ridden by me from late June of 2009 until mid-September of this year. About 7,500 miles worth. Since I ride a 2009 WR-250F off-road on Sundays, the WR-250R was, basically, my street bike. I liked it.
No, I don't care for those tire paint stripes, either. Thankfully, I've got all winter to scrape them off, since the tire is otherwise in very good condition. There are also a couple of juvenile-like stickers on the bike that aren't visible in the pic, and they're coming off.

| Rode the bike, AKA RAINBOW WARRIOR, in stock condition for the last time yesterday during a spell of normal-for-December weather. Felt lean, plugged-up, and geared very tall. Also has a good front brake (thank God, because I like that in a bike), shifts very well, and handles fine and dandy when the rear shock ain't pogoing up and down. I'm anxious to do the mods and get into March. :) Time to start with the basics: All clean and greased: Swingarm clean and bearings and seals greased. That pitiful rear pogo stick is heading to Go Race Suspension tomorrow. :) : | |

| Yeah, winter is the time for tearin' into it for this kind of stuff. There's enough to do to keep me occupied for a while. :) | |

| Sweet! I got the word from Travis at Go Race Suspension that my WR-250X rear shock is finished and gonna' be heading on back to home base. Got the usual mods that Go Race does to the shock to bring it up to suitable par (as in: actually working well :) ).
I'll give an impression once the rear of the bike is put back together. :)

| How did the swingarm bearings look as far as OEM grease volume ? | |

| They looked OK and there was enough grease on the bearings and collars. Worth the peace of mind applying some fresh gease, anyway. :)

| I bought my 2008 WR-250X on the 3rd of this month with 3,911 miles on it. Excellent shape, except the rear shock was waaaay too bouncy and it was already leaking oil on the shock shaft.
I sent it to Travis at Go Race Suspension in Virginia for his overhaul and revalve, and while he was at it, he installed a softer spring that's better-suited for my 150 lbs. I put the rear suspension back on the bike this morning, but haven't ridden it, yet. :)
