Here are some shots I found from a ride I did back
in February. Upper ranch at Hollister right after
a solid storm.

Snow on the ridge of the Coast range across the canyon.

My goal from the beginning is to make a seriously dirt worthy DS.

The R² can do it. I've been doing black diamond trails on it
and have no problems.

Even double black diamond trails - these are a few shots from
the Troll Trail system out at Hollister

Hollister Hills PB090001

Hollister Hills PB090002

There are miles of singletrack like this that wind down the ridges into the
canyons out at Hollister. I was happy to make it down this day without
a drop and even took the easy-out about a third of the way through. This
stuff is Burly - there's no turning around, you enter from the top of the
ridge and exit through the bottom of the canyon. Going solo is scetchy
because there could be washouts or trees freshly fallen across the trail'

So beat by the time I made it back to the two-track I parked
and sat down with my head between my knees for 20 minutes.

Wow...that middle shot is pretty gnarly alright. thumb That thing would be slippery as goose shit when it's wet, no doubt. eeek
