Hated The Blue - Started painting again

Hi Motokid,

I really like the red on the tank shrouds. If you reverse the red and white on the rear fender, it might carry the theme through...the red would be banded by white in each instance. I can't wait to see it with the black seat!

can you still take the side cover off?

After painting I just stuck it on there where I wanted it then used a box cutter to cut down the seam between the side cover and the rear fender.......... it worked really well and I can remove the side covers with out a problem. Sorry Motokid I seem to be highjacking your thread.

Yeah I really think that you are on the right track with the front side panels but like someone said earlier in the thread, I would swap the colors on the tail and maybe add some more red to the front fender.........the greatest part of painting our bikes is if you dont like just paint over it.

Paint over it.....that's the way to go.

Going all white then putting her back together for now.

I'll ponder the next design iteration while flogging a virgin white "ghost" bike.

Some lessons learned....spray painting when humidity is insane is not optimum.

When thinking of designs for bike - put all plastics together an bike and look at flow of lines before painting.

Don't over-sweat the imperfections. Your not a professional painter. You're using rattle can spray paint.
It won't be perfect.

AND - there's always more paint.....

And I finished putting it together while 6:00pm came and went......
