Is this oil ok???

Subject: Is this oil ok??? Sun May 22, 2011 6:33 pm

My manual says to use 20w40 if you live in a warmer area. I live in southern california (very hot) but the only oil I found at the shop was 20w50. Will I mess up my engine by using this oil? Will it have any negative effects? Is there any other people using this type of oil in their bikes?

Am I better off returning the oil and looking for the right one? Thanks in advance.

What brand oil is it?
Is it intended for a motorcycle engine with a wet clutch?

20/50 is fine in warm weather.
In my WR-250X this very minute is Yamalube 15/50, and I live in Connecticut where it was in the low 60s for today's great ride. :)
I'd be more concerned with any additives in it that are meant for a car.

Being how hot it is there, it's a good choice. Is it bike oil? If it is, you're golden. thumb

I run 15/40 dino lube. Very happy

Yes, it was meant for motorcycles. I usually just buy whatever is cheapest. The one I bought is "Suzuki" brand. It says on the bottle that it was made especially for 4 stroke motorcycles. So 20w 50 is ok then?
