Need More Torque, Sprocket Setup for Hooligan Riding Empty
PostSubject: Need More Torque, Sprocket Setup for Hooligan Riding   Need More Torque, Sprocket Setup for Hooligan Riding EmptyTue Nov 15, 2011 3:44 pm

I am currently Running a 13/46 (3.53 Ratio) on my WRR but I'm looking for a little bit more torque for Hooligan Riding :nono: to help Loft the front wheel and other street riding.
Tires: 90/90-21 & 120/80-18 Bridgestone Battlax BT-45

So my questions are...
  • Will a 12T Front cause buzzing at higher speeds?
  • Is there more/less stress on the engine with (+4T) rear vs. (-1T) front?
  • Also, by increasing my ratio, has anyone noticed that they spend more/less time shifting? (i.e. Will I be shortening my gears too much?)

Option A: 12/46 = 3.83
Option B: 13/48 = 3.70
Option C: 13/50 = 3.85
Option D: 12/48 = 4.00
Option E: 13/52 = 4.00

I run 12/47 on mine. Shifting in 1st/2nd you do 'now'. Very short. After that it isn't as noticeable to me. I didn't notice any buzzing on this setup. With mods and this gearing popping the front up in 1->3 is easy, havn't tried 4->6 yet. I am considering going to 48 on the back running the 12 up front for dirt and 13 for commuting.
