1st of all I have a 2008 WRX
For the most part it's bone stock cept for the FMF power programmer and I removed the spark arrestor.
This AM as I left the house, I get to the top of my street. I roll on the throttle and it jumps and dumps. The bike just feels like it wants to shut off. I pulled in the clutch, bliped the throttle and go on my way. This happened a few weeks back only I was on the freeway. I was going 70ish when outta no where the bike feels like it lost power. Almost launching me forward, I squeezed the bike with my knees holding on and regain control.
This ever happen to any of y'all?

What settings on your FmF fuel programmer?

I'm betting that's the issue.

I'd probably start with some fairly easy to check items like this little bugger https://wr250rforum.forumotion.com/t5549-bike-won-t-start-try-this and checking that the battery cables are secured. Might even give the engine stop switch a little bit of a workout.

I was looking at some old posts and ran across this one https://wr250rforum.forumotion.com/t3274-my-wrr-let-me-down-yesterday and some of the later posts in that thread made me think of your issue. In a nutshell, you may want add the side stand switch and the clutch switch to your list of items to check out.

You can totally disconnect the FmF unit and reconnect the stock fitting to the throttle body.

That way if the stumble happens again you'll know it's not the fuel programmer.

I missed that you had a 2008 - I hope it's not the fuel pump. How many miles you got on the bike?

There's a glitch in the FmF fuel programmers around the 5th number.

Since you don't have any mods that would require a programmer at this time, it's a free and simple check, although a little time consuming, to remove the unit
and take the bike to 100% stock.

What kind of glitch in the FMF PP's. It has maybe 2,500 miles on it. I bought it with 1,800 on it.

I noticed a big stall every time the programer quitt before it was warm.Dobeck ind backs them 100% just call for info if its quitt working.

All is well with the FMF PP. It scrolls. I can hear my fuel pump cycle too. I played with the kill switch too. SO, After reading lots and lots of post I'm just going to remove the kickstand switch and go from there. I'll keep ya posted. Thanks for the links and trouble shooting ideas.

Just remember, with no mods you don't need a fuel programmer.

It's an aftermarket part that may or may not be a problem.

You can eliminate it from the equation and KNOW you've isolated the issue or not and still be safe.

It's kind of like trying to figure out why your bike won't start and not looking at the battery first.

Start with the easy stuff.

But that's your call.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Second that...kickstand switches usually bother rough riders, from what I gather...and makes sense.
If rough riding brings on troubles, there it is... or the switch has failed...a failed switch should be easy to diagnose.
I don't recall a wrr that complained of a kickstand switch...unless the rider , himself, tripped it.

Did you just fill up? There are cases of double dosing with ethanol by both refiners and distributors for the tax credits. So, you could be on a tank of 20% crap, or if you haven't ridden it in awhile the ethanol may have separated and you're getting water coming through. I'd try fresh gas before anything else.

It's not that. I ride my WRX 3-4 times a week.
