Installed PCV few days ago, everything went good, FMF Q4 and open airbox on top only mod on my bike, no other mods.
After PCV install I can see that tip of exhaust is getting black, also when slowing down and switching into 2nd gear, bike almost stalls , like there is no fuel and it will shut off. I was riding with FMF Q$ only for about a week and muffler tip was not black. Anybody has an idea what could be the problem? I'm using map like there is a full FMF exhaust system and an open air box, trying to find something similar to mine.
Thanx

"and open airbox on top"

So you completely cut the top of your airbox off? If not simply removing the flapper is not an "open" airbox.

You have a slip on--& a conservative one at that--& you are running a map for a full system & open air box.

Try a slip on only map like the Leo Vince.

Some soot inside your exhaust is also not necessarily indicutive of a problem.

Forgot what it was called, didn't open side door, just the top.
I tried map for Leo Vince, didn't see anything different at all, loaded this one and still the same, except for some issues.

Unless you completely removed the hinged door (on the side behind the side panel) or irreversibly cut large chunks off your airbox with a saw or knife you do not have an open airbox & should not be running a map for one.

Sorry about that, flapper mod it is. OK, I'm not really worried about the tip, just the issue when dropping into second gear, bike died on me once, but many times almost.

If you're running the fuel map designed for a wide open airbox you're getting too much fuel in there. In your case it might be so much that it's near stalling due to the overly rich condition.

This is where I recommend the Autotune module. I have one, and it's pretty trick. Fuel curves are adjusted automatically for varying conditions. You could essentially set it and forget it, but for best safety/performance it's good to set the thresholds low and update often.

Thanx for reply, I got the PCV thinking it is something I need because of slip-on. It is not any different with PCV, with slip-on you could feel that bike is running better, throttle response was nice too. Idon't want to buy the autotune too, how much money you need to spend for this kind of bike really. My ZX10-R has full Ti CF exhaust, bike is dynoed also. Spend thousands of dollars on this bike, great bike. I started riding WR250X more, it is a lot of fun, just need some kind of map that can correct this issue. Maybe I should contact Power Commander and see what my options are, thanx
