Taking the wheels off for my first tire change. Anything else I should do or check while i have them off?

I always work some quality grease into the bearings. I also check the brake pads- there is no better time.

Spoke tension.....and make sure you don't have any spokes sticking up high on the inside that could give you a flat later on.

I always blast the caliper pistons clean with brake cleaner.

don't pop your tubes.. I just did this yesterday and having a downed bike sucks..

That's why I always keep spares in the garage. I haven't pinched a tube changing a tire in years but it sucks when it happens.
