WR/X value on the rise?

With all of the manufacturers having pulled Sumos from their lineups in the US, I'm thinking that folks who are inclined to want one will have a bit of a problem finding one. Sure there are a few new/old production units left on showroom floors, but those will be gone soon.

Used prices seem to be edging up.

Hmmm. I don't ride the thing much. Might be time to consider letting it go.

...I wouldn't say that, in fact that's silly to think you'll get more for your investment by the 'sell now!" idea.
Recently I've seen well farkle WRR/X's for as little as $3500.

I mean, think about it, these bikes aren't that pricey to begin with.
Now, if Yamaha was to drop it from the line-up and come out with a 350...you just may want to sell...

I have observed an uptick in used prices, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it. Worth monitoring.

I didn't mean that prices were rising to the level of a new bike, only that used prices seem to be higher than they have been in my area. But, by all means, keep up the search. Good info.

All areas are different. I bought my 2008 WRR with 189 miles for $3000 this March (2012). The guy was asking $3500. Right after I bought it two WRX's came up for sale. Both 2008's, one at a dealer for $3695 and one private seller for $3500. I really wanted an X so I was bummed, but the prices here seem a "little" lower than I see people online trying to sell their's for. One guy on this site is trying to sell his 2008 for $5k but I would be surprised to see that bike selling for anywhere near that asking price.

I doubt it. New supply is dropping because demand is dropping. They will largely cancel each other out in the near future. Collectors item down the road?? Who knows?

Freaky. Your link absolutely works, but when I do a search in the St. Paul/Minneapolis Craig's List for WR250X, I get two other bikes, both over $4k.
