Anybody got any clever wrenching/maintenance tricks they want to share?

Mine is ... I set my adjustable lift to a height such that a 2x4 under the rear wheel lines it up perfectly to slide the axle bolt back in without a wrestling match.

Makes the job much easier with:

  • Three big tire irons
  • Bead Buddy
  • valve stem installation tool (Stockton)
  • 5-8 gal. bucket as a wheel stand...secured to the floor with pipe insulation around the lip is best. Keep all the tools in bucket.

Rubber tubing over then end of a spark plug allows you to insert it without just dropping it in there. Twirl the tubing to thread the plug in.

Save old clutch plates, bolt a few of them together, and now you have a great clutch hub holder.

Lots of beer- bribe friends for tools or labor.
