Hey all, I normally wear earplugs while I ride--especially since going with the Q4 pipe.  I've worn the foamies with mixed results.  Sometimes they worked as advertised, but sometimes they don't seal properly and almost seem to amplify the noise somehow.

I recently picked up a box of these from Walmart:

Best Earplugs DSCN4756

Man! What a difference!  It's crazy that changing the shape so little would have such a great affect.  They're easy to insert, reliably seal my ear cavity, and don't try to back out on their own.  They're also very comfortable.  They're also cheap.  That's a trifecta as far as I'm concerned.

I love finding perfect, inexpensive, products.  If you've ever been disappointed with regular foamies, give these a shot.  They're called Countour Comfort.

That's good to know, I'm looking for ear plugs that work ALL the time
and your right that sometimes they can amplify the sound.

I have a FMF 4 and it's pretty dang loud, especially with the spark arrestor
out of it (which just makes it rip!) But I couldn't take it anymore even with plugs
that worked better, so I put it back in.

also, is your airbox door removed and if so, do you ride in wet/mud conditions?!

We have frequent water crossings up here in Maine, but it's not muddy like it is in Houston.

I've done the "Ultimate Airbox Mod" by dreamed up by HighFive.  You can Google it.  It allows unrestricted airflow, but also lends a bit more splash protection.  I have no complaints.
