wheels 21 inch - rims for my X

hi folks. im from Europe , Croatia. i would like to mount 21 inch front wheel to my X. the problmis if i order it from US the tax would be as the price of the wheel ( dont ask ) but if i order from Europ theare is no tax ( europe union ) . can somebodey help me to buy the 21 front wheel, is someone in europe selling the front ??
or - can i mount some other wheel ?? from some diferent bike, i whent to my mechanic , and he said wr 250 f dosent work.
and- what if i fix the front 21, and leave the back tire 17 and just mount cross tire on that - is that ok for riding ??

I think this maybe more involved than what you are looking to do but it is an option.

I believe the forks from a 2003 WR450F fit our bike. If you pick up the WR450F forks you can also run the WR450F front wheel which seems to be more plentiful than the WR250R wheels. You will need to modify the wheel spacers and use all of the WR450F hardware but with that you get a much better front fork with better valving.

thanx man but whit the forks it is too much of a deal and money. it would be the best if i could mount just a wheel on my forks...

If you are never going to go off road then why do you want a 21in front wheel for your WRX? The 17in wheel is a better street wheel than the 21.

o , i ment that comment like - im mad for not going to go off road.

slv dirtrider - the problem for me whit shiping from america is i pay alot of tax heare. il see . how much that would be and i contact you. i have a friend ho works in America, and i hawe a cousine living in America -so i lok if they can bring the wheel when they comme to Croatia.
how much for wheel, and do you hawe a back wheel 18 inch to ??

I need to use the rear wheel for now. The front wheel if you can figer out the shipping I will sell for $250 with axle. I have converted to YZ forks and my wheel won't fit any more.

shiping is not so much a problem like tax for me i tink

Yes I will leave the disc on the wheel.

I have heard the X has a bigger disc, I really don't know what size or how much bigger it is. Maybe one of the X guys know the differrent sizes.

Here is what I think I know about the X and the R front discs so far.

The X uses a different hub than the R and a different bolt pattern for the disc on the Yamaha wheels. That means you cannot bolt a Yamaha X front disc on a R wheel front wheel. The X front discs are larger than the R and they have a different caliper setup to compensate for that.

The X and R front wheel from Warp 9 uses the same bolt pattern as the Yamaha R wheel and they sell front rotors in the X and R size that will fit their front wheel.

This means if you have a WRX and manage to get the front wheel from a WRR (Yamaha wheel) then you could buy the X front rotor from Warp 9 and it should bolt right on to the wheel and allow you to run the R wheel with the X brake caliper.

The wheel will fit. The brake disc my not match the location of the X , brake caliper. You might have to get a bigger disc.

The 17" rear wheel works fine for me in the dirt and you can put on a larger tire. If you just want to ride off road put a 17" knobby on the front. It still works really well on the road. I did buy a Warp 9 21" for the front with a large disk so I don't have to change the caliper. The front is a little lighter and it works better when you get in to more serious off road stuff, but I think the 17" front knobby is a good compromise.

thanx Kbike. what is the type and size of your 17" front ?? is that actualy the tyre recomended for the back wheel you just monted in front?? i got to see if we have thous in Croatia. it looks ok.

Shinko 244: Front 4.60X17, Rear 5.10X17
Kenda has a similar tire, K270, but it is a little more expensive

If you do a search on this list, Shinko 244, you will come up with all kinds of info.

K bike- your Shinko's are looking great. i spend last day searching for importer heare in Croatia - or nerby Europ for Shinko, and made a quest on aur local motorcycle forums - but nothing. looks like only thing for me is to move to USA -and pimp up my rides the way i wont it.
