Here is my review after one year of using the FMF PP. My bike has all the mods, combine with a DRD slip-on, settings to 3/2.5/0.5/8/6/4

Good throttle response on the trail but pretty hard on gas on the road. Now I have started to change settings when I get out of the trail to hit the road at 0.5/0.5/0.5 (PP turned off). I found that there is not much difference!!! It pulls a little less harder and the noise is lower

So should you spend that 250$ on a PP?? not sure.. unless you want to be a little faster in the trail..

The better throttle response is what I liked about mine.
Also lowered coolant temperature (combined with removing that black plastic duct behind the radiator) to the point that my fan quit coming on while negotiating slow trails.

Once, I rode my WR-250R back-to-back with my programmer hooked up and then with it unhooked.
On the unhooked ride, I couldn't wait to get it hooked back up again.

You can do a lot more with a Power Commander or similar device that allows many more tuning points & the ability to take fuel away.

That's because it just sits there so innocently and covertly with it's dark color making it disappear. :)

Never thought of removing that plastic thingy. Bike rarely gets hot enough for the fan to turn on so it's never really been an issue. Anyway, what is the purpose of that plastic guard? I may want to remove it just for the sake of doing so.

My guess is to vent hot air from the radiator away from the rider's leg.
It never bothered me (I didn't notice it, basically), but to some, it may.
