I picked up a 2008 WRR yesterday. It has 6,400 miles on the clock, and is in need of a little TLC.  The gentleman I bought it off of had developed Parkinsons, so no more riding in the cards for him.  The bike had been sitting for over a year.  I got to work on it today.  Knocked out the following:

Cleaned stock air filter and air box
Replaced spark plug with Iridium plug
Fresh oil and filter
Dumped old gas
Adjusted sag
Adjusted front and rear damping and rebound
Repacked FMF Powercore 4
Installed FMF Quiet Core
Adjusted forks in tree back to level (after I took the photo)

Still on the punch list, but waiting on parts:
Fork seals are dry rotted.  Replace all seals
Replace chain
Swap stock rear sprocket for 47 tooth
Replace both tires with Michelin AC-10s

Hope I can get this all wrapped up this week.  I've got a dual sport ride next weekend (Bucky).

Kent

Welcome to the forum and nice WRR!

Where are you located in Northern IL? I am in the Palatine area but am originally from Rockford.

I'm in Minooka. About 10 miles west of Joliet on I-80.

Ah I know Minooka! Any good dualsport rides around there?

I end up heading back towards Rockford or into Wisconsin to find anything to ride.

Not really. Much better up in the Rockford direction. Some stuff further West from me, but I wouldn't call it great. Far too flat around here!
