IMS 3.1 tank gasket

Is anyone using the oem yamaha gasket? Has it leaked? my tank came in a few days ago, and I've got it sitting right now about 1/2 full of gas using an OEM gasket and it hasn't leaked yet. Whats the general consensus on this ?

I'm a little unclear on your question. I recently swapped out my stock tank for the IMS 3.1 gallon tank, and that tank came with its own o-ring style gasket for the fuel pump. Unless I am misunderstanding your question, why are you trying to use the original stock gasket vs. the one that came with the IMS?

A few different reasons. I've had terrible luck with non oem gaskets in the past. Reason number two being that the ims supplied o ring is simply that. A big o ring. The oem gasket has little nubs that fit into some cut outs on the pump. I liked the idea of retaining those.

I was just wondering if anyone else had used the oem gasket, without issues.

Gotcha. Yeah, I'd be curious to hear about that, too. I used the big IMS o-ring that came with the new tank, and it fit fine and I have had zero issues with it. I've not seen any reports from anyone who has used the OEM on the new tank, so this will be good to hear from anyone who's done it. Cheers

Pretty sure my tank didn't come with a gasket so I had to re-use the OEM. It leaked for a while until I realized it was installed upside down - it is directional......

So far so good. Let the bike run for awhile today after sitting all night with no issues. - I will keep you guys up to date.

How's the tank going with the original oring oldschoolsdime92? Any leaks?
I just bought a used IMS 3.1 and don't have the IMS oring so would like to use the oem one.
