ultimate WR250X build....

I have lusted for a wr250x since they came out in 2008. I finally got away from the touring aspect of riding and decided to pull the trigger last june. My intended purpose for this bike is, day rides in the mountains and kart track fun.

Heres the list of goodies thus far.

IMS 3.1 tank
Hdb hand guards with mirrors
45t rear sprocket, DID chain
Protaper yz high bars
Flatlander racing skid plate
Zeta billet heal guard
sandman case-ordered but not received yet.
homemade axle sliders- spitfire skateboard wheels
Fmf pc4 exhaust
Fmf programmer(may switch to pc3)
Michelin pilot powers
Suspension will be off to Travis at " go race inc" in a few weeks for valving and springs.

I love the WR for what it is. No it doesn't have a ton of power, its not a 450, its not the lightest thing available, but its reliable as a rock!Its tons of fun, and can be a very streetable super moto. Its also a real hoot on the go kart track!

As for the gearing, It was hard to compromise. I wanted something that pulled better than stock, BUT I did not want to keep the RPMS sky high all the time. Sometimes in the mountains gas stations are farther apart than I would like. So I felt this was a good happy medium to still get decent fuel mileage. When I take the bike to the kart track, I will throw a 12T front on to assist with the track duty. I've ran a 12t on the street for about 500 miles with no issues of the chain coming in contact with the swing arm slider =).

Your 1st gen SV looks a lot like mine, but I sold mine to buy the WRx.

I love my SV650- I believe thats one bike that I will keep for a long long time. The wrx is falling into that category as well.

As for the 0%- Just to go along with a buddy of mines race car, if we take the WRX to the track, to use as a pit bike...

She now swings both ways...

My puzzle is finally complete. I sent my suspension off to travis at go-race for the full treatment.

Thank you, I'm really looking forward to getting it on the kart track. The WRR wheels were kind of an impulse thing this winter, to cure my PMS.

I have a 2015 wr250r I was wondering were I could get a all black body plastics. And if it's okay if I get the programmer before a aftermarket exaust

Just order 2009 model WR250X parts from a Yamaha dealer if you want black plastics.

Yes, you can add a programmer before the aftermarket exhaust.
