WR250R What I'm looking for?

Hi all, So I currently have a Yamaha XT125R and its great but I'm looking for just a little bit more power. Im 6ft and commute to work everyday on 40-50MPH roads and sometimes its necessary to overtake but my 125 won't get me round cars and quick as id like. I also go down some dirt roads now and then but I'm mostly on roads. Will the 250R give me that little bit of power I'm looking for or should I look elsewhere?

The wr250r should give you a little bit more power than the xt125r. More like lots more! I can hardly do 40-50mph on my wr, it feels way to slow for the bike. My comfort zone is around 60, with more than enough of passing power left even when going uphill. It will be like night and day difference for you. And on the wr you will be drawn like a magnet to going down those dirt roads more often.

Yamaha Motor Corp. doesn't import the XT125R into the USA, but the same engine design is sold here with the TT-R125LE.
I've owned five TT-R125Ls or LEs (still own one) and a WR250R and WR250X, and I can tell you that the WR250R will feel like a Superbike as far as power output goes.
It has twice the displacement, after all.

The down side is that it will be physically larger than your XT, but, most would agree it is the better choice for higher speed riding, both on or off-road, and with your height, it should be a good fit.
