Has anyone looked at balancing out the crankshaft to further reduce the vibrations?

I've got 2 WRR's and there is a massive difference in vibration coming from the engine. I'm pretty sure it's from the engine because you can even tell at idle between the 2. You can feel it through the seat, tank and bars. Basically everywhere.

Any help would be appreciated. I know they're considered smooth and one of them is, but the other leaves you buzzing for ours after.

Is it possible the balance shaft driven gear is out by a tooth?

I think if you search this Forum or the WRR thread on ADVRider.com you will find a case where a WRR balance shaftdrive gear was messed up which eventually let go and created a small mess in the motor.

On that bike one of my riding buddies owned it for a few months and complained about the vibration since he had been on other WRR's before. He then sold the bike because of the vibration and the new owner did not seem worried about it and rode the hell out of it until the gear failed.

Can this occur without fiddling with the engine? I've never taken the cases off this bike.

Talked to my buddy and he refreshed my memory.

There is a nut that holds a component in place - maybe a sprocket. That nut backed itself off and that is what they thought started the vibration. Finally came off all the way and got sucked up into the transmission at which point it was game over.

As far as he knows the cases were never split on that bike.

Interesting. I'll have a look at the alignment when I get back.

Has anyone tried having the engine professionally balanced to see if vibrations can be further reduced?

Had a vibration all through the bike on an RMZ250 turned out to be a loose motor mount bolt. It was not loose much just enough to vibrate the hell out of the bars. I would just check all mount bolts and crank on em a bit
