| I just picked up a 2011 WR250R with only 475 miles. What should I do first to make it better, if possible. I drained the gas tank, fresh gas, changed the oil and filter, and oiled the chain. My weight is 200 lbs, how do I set up the shocks? Should I put in a different air filter? Thanks for any help. | |

| definitely check the Air Filter. I would remove both wheels and grease the axle/shafts with axle grease. I haven't played with my suspension yet and I'm almost your weight... so i'll check in what others have to say about that. I'm currently running stock suspension/settings and I find the rear a little soft on the bumpy stuff. front forks feel ok. | |

| Clean the air filter and oil, change the oil and oil filter, fresh gas and just ride it, you can make changes as you go, find out how the suspension feels. Im 200 lbs and I changed mine to the softer side for where I ride, cheer`s | |

| I dumped the gas. It looked like yellow pee (bad), Put in some Ethanol free with some cleaner, Change the oil and filter (a little dirty), greased the really dry chain, cleaned the air filter (looked new), and put on a skid plate. What is next. Might change the grips and put on radiator guard. Thinking about the Seat concepts seat for comfort. Any thoughts.

| if the bike hasn't been ridden in a while... take the 10 minutes and pull the axles out and great them. very important. I do mine regularly. Also, for the 3 bolts, you can remove the front sprocket cover and make sure there is no dirt/mud in there. do yourself a favor and buy the Sandman Case Saver and Sprocket Cover. Most people on this site have it.. well worth the little $ as it doesn't trap the mud in like the stock one.
Skid Plate and Rad guard IMO is very important. Especially if you will be bouncing off logs etc and going through single track. the plastic shroud that covers the Rad is flimsy and wouldn't take much of a stick to break through it. | |

| have the seat concept carbon seat, it`s more comfortable than the stock one, but it is slippery, you can get a gripper one also, road its great single track not as good. | |
