Hello everyone...I am potentially looking to make the switch from my 2015 Vespa Primavera (150cc) to a Yamaha WR250R. Not sure if I should wait to see what they announce for 2016 first (maybe a WR450R). I live in the great state of California and there are many places to ride.

When does Yamaha normally announce the 2016 lineup for the WR250R? I see some announcements have been made for some other bikes.

WR250R models are pretty much the same from inception in 2008 to current 2015 model. Other than a problem with initial 2008 fuel pumps there have been no significant technology changes or additions to this bike over the years. Unless you have specific insider info not reported yet there's no reason to expect notable changes in 2016 or a new model with a larger engine. If either were on the horizon we'd all be talking nonstop about it here and elsewhere on the web.

Look up Yamaha Canada or Yamaha USA, they have had the new model out for a bit now, sometimes theres a mid year release.

Saw your post on another forum... where Kim Jong-Il clapped for you. I'd steer clear of that thread. It's a trap, and they will crucify you for liking a WR. Glad you found this forum. Congratulations on your new bike. I wanted a bigger WR too, but this one has grown on me over the years. Almost never miss the extra cc's. Betting you won't regret this purchase.
