| Well people, finally my WR-R bit me, and I have a couple of fractures and two ruptured ligaments in my left ankle.
It was an unforced error while droving a peaceful mob of sheep, just riding around in 2nd when the ground crumbled and I investigated ants at close range. Plus was given the above reward! First day of a 2.5 week contract! Luckily I could still change gears, which was a very good thing.
I did find that colder weather can really affect damping settings on this bike, especially in the forks. The suspension was really harshly crap everywhere, especially in the rocks (ie felt like hydraulic lock, which it is). Backed compression and rebound out and all was well again.

| Thus far armor and the front of my helmet has taken the hits on unexpected rest stops. Being pinned downhill by the WR and getting out from under and getting it back up has been tougher than the impacts... Hope you recover quickly. | |

| My non-WRR riding friends have nicknamed me "Code 30" in response to my occasional spontaneous dismounts. | |

| Laughing my head off about 'unexpected rest stops', and 'uncontrolled freestyle' ! They're really good. I'll use them at work if they aren't copyrighted... Thanks for your experiences and kindness. We aren't shown much mercy at work if there's an inadvertent dismount. Comments like 'What's up mate, your bike having a little sleep?' Or 'Isn't gravity a bitch?' And so on. Sigh. | |

| He he I've been riding for >50 years, so I guess I've had more than my fair share of sampling. Not to give away my age or anything, I add hastily. | |

| Ha! Now I don't feel so bad! Old farts rule - the line might be a bit squiggly, though... | |

| Only us old dudes appreciate modern suspension. In 71' I was racing so cal D37 desert races on stock Yam 360 enduro 6" suspension. How'd I do that? Finally afforded Curnutt shocks still had stock forks. Most of todays riders were born in the modern suspension era | |

| I started on a Honda 90 sport, had it for a few months then went to a Triumph 500 with upswept pipes and sand raced that against 600 matchless singles and 500 ajs singles, seemed the Triumph had about 2 inches of travel hahaha the good old 60`s, I tried racing a Yamaha DT1 250cc nice and lite but no suspension either, finally settled on yamaha IT 175 and 200 for 100 mile cross country races, have had a few harleys and traveled all over Canada and the North western USA, now back to the WRR, around in a circle, Hows that leg healing, getting around now. cheer`s | |
