Ironically, I think (not certain) that the current member pic at the top of the home page is the guy who gets credit with this mod.
Either him or another guy going by the name of Highfive.
If you get your Google foo going, you will learn about it.
Basically, it is removing the flapper, plugging the rubber hose leading to the throttle body, and removing plastic from the duct of the glued-and-plastic-riveted-down top of the airbox.
In other words, you're removing the intake noise restriction that also cuts down the amount of air that can enter the airbox.
On my 2008 WR250R and WR250X, I went with the flapper removal.
I did remove the top of the airbox, entirely, for a short while (as I wrote, it's attached with plastic dome-headed rivets and some kind of silicone sealant), but decided the intake honk was irritating because it sounded like shit.
