Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and just picked up a new '15 WR250R. My goal is to make this thing as light as possible, and it seems I have archived that goal except when it comes to the kickstand. I'm fine with the chromoly mounting bracket (safety reasons), but the stand itself is unnecessarily heavy.

Anyway, I've searched far and wide yet cannot find a lighter alternative for the WRR. Does anyone know of an aluminum stand available for our bikes? Or, failing that, does anyone know if the WRR's frame shares the same mounting bolt geometry as another bike?

Thanks!

I to have look for a lighter kick stand and have not found anybody making one.

What I did was grind the heck out of the bracket.
I cut the side stand safety switch mounting plate off and ground down all the welds to lighten it up as much as possible.
I also lowered my bike and I put the X model side stand which is one inch shorter and a bit lighter
